January is officially here and a new year has begun. The Fall tourists have long left the area. January in Dahlonega can still offer a great weekend getaway.
The winter skies are spectacular this time of year in the evening. The stars are numerous and vivid. You can enjoy seeing the milky way in the dark evening sky. This month’s issue of Plenty Magazine addresses light pollution and mentions that two thirds of Americans cannot see the milky way from their homes. This is not the case at Cedar House Inn and Yurts.
Daytime hiking is also pleasant depending on the temperature. It is always a good idea to layer your clothing for outdoor activities.
